Customer Rating: Summary: Superchic[k] -- Beauty From Pain 1.1 Comment: I discovered this band from Amazon's music recommendations, and I must say they know me well ( which is kind of creepy, really o.O ). Anyway, this Christian Rock band sounds a lot like Flyleaf, Fireflight, Paramore, and many other female vocal lead bands -- Christian or otherwise. The fact that they are a C-Rock band neither encourages nor discourages my liking of them. I have used Amazon's MP3 service to grab songs off of all of their 3 major releases, and they have good, high energy, catchy songs on all of them. Give them a listen!
Customer Rating: Summary: Fantastic! Comment: Awesome music. Awesome message. Love "Suddenly". Saw Superchick in concert this summer and they rocked. Great C.D.!
Customer Rating: Summary: I Can Feel the Beauty From Pain Comment: I can say Superchick is stepping their game way up. You can see their growth in God. They talked about how this album came about at their concert. They dealt with a lot of personal issues and this album talks about how God brought them out. They got away from the pop high school cds in the past and to more serious rock music. This CD is a must buy. I recommend this CD.
Customer Rating: Summary: Life is Such a Gift Comment: Since we're telling our ages, I'm 54. I had never heard of Superchick until I was (oddly enough) looking at eating-disorder-related video clips on YouTube, and one or two were set to the song "Courage," which is quite understandable. I found the song on iTunes and that is where I found out more about the band and its music. I like the songs and arrangements, but I also like the messages, which are positive (except for that one song, and even that one expresses hope for getting through her ordeal) but never Hallmark-y or cloying.
I just bought this for my mom. She lost my father 3 years ago and aside from talking to her I try to send her positive, inspirational books and music. I think she'll love this CD, because she's been through it all.
(I also got a copy for myself, because I find it inspiring.)
Check out "Stand in the Rain" if you have time for only one clip.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great Sound -- Great Message Comment: The older I get, the more a song has to have a message in order for me to enjoy it. Otherwise it is little more than background noise. Folks can relate to the songs on the CD, especially girls. And it rocks too!!!! I found the review from the 52 year old reviewer interesting. I'm a 47 year old man and I dig Superchick. I'm guessing we are not Superchick's primary target market, but hey, music knows no age boundaries.
